Indonesian Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri warned that foreign illegal foreign workers or personnel who violate work rules could face immediate expulsion from the country.
Dhakiri Minister has made it clear that foreign labor in Indonesia must respect the rules and requirements of the nation that the government continues to follow closely. He also said they should refer to the regulations, which include working with and residence permits, as stated in the Ministerial Decree No. 16/2015 Manpower Ministry:
"In Indonesia, we have strict rules on foreign workers. There are requirements of competence and technology transfer, for example. Basically, only those whose skills can come and work here, "said last month Dhakiri as reported by the Jakarta Post.
Although the government claims not to reject a foreign labor influx, it requires that only persons with special skills are allowed to work in Indonesia. "the unskilled workers have no place here, and to have them here is a violation. and we will take action against violations, including expulsion. "
The minister also said the government keeps records of foreign workers, including their exact number and names. The concomitantly data suggested that there was a minor fluctuation in the number of foreign workers in 2011-2016.
In 2011, Indonesia welcomed as much as 77,307 expatriate workers, but the number decreased to 72,427 in 2012, 68,957 in 2013 and 68,762 in 2014. The number was slightly raised to 69,025 last year.
In an attempt to strengthen these regulations, Dhakiri reminded the public that they should report illegal foreign workers in the local labor offices. "If people see [illegal foreign workers or those violating the rules], please report it and we expelled them immediately. If we are in the government of illegal foreign workers, we will also quickly sent home," said Dhakiri.
