the government of Indonesia and Denmark have signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture. Agriculture Minister Suleiman Amran and Minister for Food and Agriculture Esben Lunde Larsen Denmark has signed the agreement for the two countries respectively.

The MoU contains the approval of agricultural investment in many areas and the distribution areas of land for plantations in areas including Southeast Sulawesi, Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. The Danish government will invest at least Rp.2 trillion in corn, cattle and sugar plantations of Indonesia's industries.

Denmark will provide agricultural technology in Indonesia, while Indonesia will provide 2 million hectares of land for investment.

"Indonesia will provide two million hectares of land, of which one million hectares has been set aside for live cattle, five hundred hectares of corn plantations, and five hundred hectares of cane plantations sugar, "Minister Sulaiman said during the signing of the MoU, as reported by Antara News .

"We will demonstrate the technologies used in Denmark. We have great respect for the people of Indonesia, and we want to achieve by improving the quality of their agricultural products, particularly for farmers, "said Minister Larsen.

The MoU will take effect in 2016 for the next five years.
